How Much Does It Cost to Wrap a Van in the UK? A 2026 Price Guide

The short answer is somewhere between £500 and £4,000 or more, depending on the van, the coverage and what goes into the design. That range is wide enough to be unhelpful on its own, so this guide breaks it down into the categories that actually matter: full wraps, partial wraps and graphics kits, and the variables that push a job towards the lower or higher end of each bracket.

We are Odysea Signs, based in Brighton. We design, print and fit van wraps and vehicle graphics in-house using 3M vinyl as standard. The prices in this guide are based on what we see and quote on real jobs in 2026, not estimates pulled from a comparison site.

If you are comparing van wrapping with van signwriting and trying to decide which suits your business, our separate van sign writing cost guide covers signwriting prices in detail.

Typical Van Wrap Prices in the UK: Full, Partial and Graphics Kits

Van wrap costs in 2026 sit across a wide range because the difference between a small car-derived van and a large Luton box van, or between a simple single-colour wrap and a full-colour photographic design, can be enormous in terms of material, print time and fitting complexity.

The figures below are guidance ranges for professionally fitted wraps using quality material. All prices exclude VAT and assume proper surface preparation before fitting.

Full van wraps

A full wrap covers the entire exterior of the vehicle: both sides, front, rear, roof and all secondary panels. It is the most expensive option and the most visually impactful.

  • Small van (Vauxhall Combo, Ford Connect)£1,200 to £2,200 — depending on design complexity and material specification
  • Medium van (Transit Custom, Sprinter MWB)£1,800 to £3,000 — the most common category for trades and commercial vehicles
  • Large van (Transit LWB, Sprinter LWB)£2,200 to £3,800 — larger surface area means more material and more fitting time
  • Luton or box van£2,800 to £4,500+ — significant flat panel area pushes both material and labour costs higher

Partial van wraps

A partial wrap covers specific sections of the vehicle rather than the whole thing: typically both sides, or the sides and rear, with cut vinyl lettering on the remaining panels.

  • Partial wrap on a small van (sides or rear)£600 to £1,400 — most popular entry point for printed van graphics
  • Partial wrap on a medium van (sides and rear)£900 to £2,000 — strong visual result at a fraction of full wrap cost
  • Partial wrap on a large van£1,200 to £2,600 — often combined with cut vinyl on remaining panels for a coherent scheme

Printed graphics kits and panel graphics

A graphics kit applies printed panels to specific areas without covering the full vehicle. This works well for businesses that want a branded look but have a simpler design that does not require full coverage.

  • Door and rear panel graphics (small van)£400 to £800 — covers the highest-visibility areas without full wrap cost
  • Side panel graphics (medium van)£600 to £1,200 — printed panels on both sides, usually combined with cut vinyl lettering
  • Full-side printed graphics (large van)£900 to £1,800 — maximum side panel coverage short of a full wrap

What Affects the Cost of Wrapping a Van?

Two quotes for what sound like the same job can come in very differently. These are the variables that explain most of the gap.

Vehicle size and surface area

This is the single biggest cost driver. More surface area means more material, more print time and more fitting time. A Luton box van has significantly more flat panel space than a Transit Custom. The jump in cost between sizes reflects real differences in the amount of work involved, not an arbitrary pricing tier.

Design complexity

A single colour wrap is faster to produce than a photographic design with multiple blended layers. Complex artwork, fine detail, gradients and photography all add to the preparation and print time. A simple, bold design is often better for vehicle graphics anyway: it reads more clearly at speed and distance.

Material specification

Not all vinyl is the same. Quality automotive vinyl from brands like 3M costs more per square metre than budget alternatives, but it lasts five to eight years in normal outdoor use, applies cleanly to compound curves and removes cleanly at end of life without damaging the paint. Budget material often looks similar when first applied and then begins to lift, fade or crack within a year or two. The material cost is a small proportion of the total project cost but its effect on longevity is disproportionate.

Number of vehicles

Fleet projects reduce the per-vehicle cost because the design, setup and coordination work is shared. A five-van fleet will cost less per vehicle than five individual one-van jobs, sometimes significantly so. If you are considering graphics for more than one vehicle, it is worth quoting the full fleet at once rather than doing them individually.

Fitting difficulty

Vans with lots of curves, creases, door handles and body kit features take longer to wrap cleanly than vans with large flat panels. A Luton box van with flat sides is, paradoxically, often easier to wrap than a smaller van with a sculpted body style. The installer's time is the largest single cost on most wrap jobs, and fitting difficulty directly affects how long the job takes.

Removal and preparation

If the van has existing graphics that need to be removed before a new wrap can go on, that adds to the total cost. Professional removal of old vinyl, including cleaning and preparation of the surface underneath, is a separate stage and is priced accordingly. A vehicle with contaminated paintwork or surface imperfections may also need additional preparation before wrapping.

Van Wrap vs Signwriting vs Respray: Which Gives the Best Value?

The three main options for changing or branding a van's appearance are a wrap, signwriting and a respray. They are not really competing products because they solve different problems, but it is worth understanding where each one sits.

Van wrapping

Wrapping is the right choice when you want full-colour graphics, complex artwork or photographic imagery that cannot be reproduced in cut vinyl. It is also worth considering if you want to protect the original paintwork for resale, or if you might need to rebrand the vehicle in the future, since a wrap is removable in a way that paint is not. The cost is higher than signwriting for a comparable coverage area, but the design possibilities are significantly wider.

Van signwriting

Signwriting using cut vinyl lettering is the right choice for most sole traders and small businesses that need a professional, clearly branded van without the cost of a full wrap. A well-designed cut vinyl job with your logo, business name, phone number and website costs a fraction of a full wrap and lasts just as long. For the majority of trades vehicles, it is the better value option. Our van sign writing in Brighton page covers the signwriting options in full, and the van sign writing cost guide sets out the price ranges.

Respray

A professional respray costs more than a wrap for a comparable colour change and cannot be removed. It makes sense for vehicles where a permanent colour change is the goal, or where the paintwork needs attention anyway. For branding purposes, a respray without additional graphics does not give you the same advertising value as a wrap or signwriting scheme. For most commercial vehicle branding applications, a respray is not the right tool.

How to Get an Accurate Van Wrap Quote

The more specific the information you give a wrap company upfront, the more accurate and comparable the quote will be. Vague briefs produce vague quotes, and vague quotes tend to mean surprises later.

Here is what helps:

  • The make, model and year of the van — this lets the installer pull the correct template for your vehicle
  • Photos of all sides of the van — existing graphics, body damage, roof bars and any modifications are all relevant
  • A description of what you want — full wrap, partial, specific panels, colour change, printed branding or a combination
  • Your brand assets — logo files, colour references and any existing brand guidelines
  • The number of vehicles — even if you are only doing one now, flagging that more may follow can affect how the job is quoted
  • A rough timeline — rush jobs are sometimes possible but always affect cost and availability

From a clear brief, most installers can turn around a quote quickly. Where the job is more complex, a short consultation by phone or in person means the quote is based on a proper understanding of the project rather than assumptions.

What our clients say
about us

“extremely knowledgeable”

Couldn’t ask for a lovelier guy to work with on my designs. Lewis is extremely knowledgeable of the signage business. He’s highly skilled. And produces great quality branding and signs. It’s obvious he wants the signage to look the best it can. Highly trustworthy. Good value. Don’t go anywhere else.

Nicholas Martin, SUSSEX

“odyseasigns were absolutely incredible.”

It is very rare you get to have anyone as attentive and meticulous as him. He was there for every step and despite myself making multiple changes on the road we ended up with some really amazing signage that has helped the business in its general appearance and branding hugely. A really outstanding service with truly great results.
